Compact Construction Equipment Manager
PURPOSE
This position is responsible for leading Quality Equipment’s efforts to grow sales and market share in the Compact Construction Equipment (CCE) segment. This product group includes skid steers, compact track loaders, compact excavators, and compact wheel loaders. The position is a “working manager” role which includes revenue-generating sales activities along with managerial responsibilities for the CCE product segment. The primary duties include individual sales production, managing other dedicated CCE Sales Representatives, and developing /executing plans to increase John Deere market share of Compact Construction Equipment within Wake, Durham, Alamance, and adjacent counties. This position will also serve as the “go to” person for other Quality Equipment staff in the CCE product segment. The purpose of the dedicated Compact Construction Equipment group is to grow our business with contractors, site development firms, rental companies, and others (customers other than Agricultural customers and Professional Landscape Contractors who are already purchasing CCE products from Quality Equipment). Our goal is to significantly grow the Compact Construction Equipment segment of our business over time in terms of sales & rental revenue, customer acquisition, and dedicated staff.
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish the pricing strategy for the sales and rental of compact construction equipment.
• Work with the Sales Director to interpret, administer, and communicate all sales programs to Sales Department personnel for compact construction equipment.
• Lead efforts to grow sales and market share in the compact construction equipment segment for the Quality Equipment organization. This includes answering questions from all sales staff within Quality Equipment related to CCE product knowledge and Deere incentive programs.
• Provide trade allowance figures on compact construction equipment on deals generated by salespeople within the Compact Construction group. Assist with trade allowances and used equipment valuation as requested by Division Sales Managers for compact construction equipment on deals in Division 1-6.
• Serve as the revenue generating salesperson for the sale of Compact Construction Equipment to customers within the Raleigh/Durham metro area.
• Ordering and inventory management responsibilities of Compact Construction Equipment items (Deere only)
• Manage sales staff who are dedicated to Compact Construction Equipment branch. This role would also have interaction with field service technicians who specialize in supporting compact construction equipment.
• Possess in-depth product knowledge of compact construction equipment and serve as the “go to” person within Quality Equipment organization in this segment.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Previous sales experience
• Existing industry knowledge of compact construction equipment (skid steers, compact track loaders, compact excavators, compact wheel loaders, etc.)
• Sound understanding of used equipment markets, valuation techniques, deal making, and retail financing programs. Prior experience dealing with manufacturer incentive programs is preferred.
• Good people skills and the ability to communicate information effectively. This includes sound written and verbal communication skills when dealing with customers and Sales staff.
• Must be a self-starter, have a positive attitude, display honesty, and good work ethic
